The Greek Studies program at Drexel invites students to take an educational and experiential journey exploring ancient Greek mythology, modern Greek history, and contemporary political issues and culture. Students immerse themselves in Greek traditions: from the spices of the food to the tastes of the Greek islands, from traditional and folk melodies to modern music and dance, and from theatrical plays and movies to dinner-dancing parties. Along with study abroad and co-op options, the program also examines Greece's position in the world, as its geography places it at a distinct juncture unifying Africa, Europe and Asia. Greek Studies encourages students to appreciate both classic and modern values that have evolved into Greece's wonderful traditions. As an added benefit, all courses on Greek topics can be taken for honor's credit.

Students have the opportunity to gain a firsthand perspective of Greek culture by participating in co-op or study abroad programs on the island of Crete. The co-op experience is made possible through the Vidalakis Family Cretan Scholars Program, which provides a $6000 stipend to accepted applicants to offset the costs of participation.
