The annual UC San Diego Summer History program is now open for applications.

The program consists of two interlinked upper division undergraduate seminars, each worth 4 UC credits.

1) MMW 14: The Making of the Modern World: Empire, Revolution & Industry: Global Developments, Greek Experiences and

2) HIEU 117GS: Traditional Greek Society.

The seminars combine teaching in the classroom with on-site instruction. In addition to visiting historical sites and museums, there will two excursions outside of Athens (see the full list below). Students will be housed in fully furnished residential apartments in Pangrati. The program is a collaborative venture and among the guest lecturers participating in it are: Dr. Christina Agriantoni, Dr. Paschalis Kitromilides, Dr. Sakis Gekas, Dr. Gonda Van Steen, Dr. Ioanna Laliotou, and others. Enrollment is capped at 28 and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dates: July 1- August 4, 2012.
